Viridian Metals Inc. (CSE: VRDN) Reports Initial 2026 Drill Results from Kraken Main Zone, Labrador

OTTAWA, Ontario — September 8, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Viridian Metals Inc. (CSE: VRDN) (OTCQB: VIRMF) announced initial assay results from its 2026 drill program at the Kraken Main Zone in Labrador, confirming an extension of VKS25-024 and providing assays from VKS26-052, VKS26-053, and VKS26-054. The results highlight significant mineralization, including the expansion of a previously reported interval and the intersection of sulphide mineralization in new, large step-out holes. The company is also finalizing work on an initial exploration target for the Kraken Main Zone, based on drilling completed before the 2026 program.

The extended hole VKS25-024 returned 50.15 metres grading 0.68% copper equivalent (CuEq) from a depth of 1 metre. This interval includes 18.8 metres grading 1.12% CuEq from 12.2 metres, further expanding a prior intercept of 24.05 metres grading 0.77% CuEq from 1 metre. Mineralization in VKS25-024 now extends from surface to the end of the hole at 51.15 metres, indicating a mineralized package exceeding 50 metres in thickness. Tyrell Sutherland, President and CEO of Viridian Metals, noted that this extension demonstrates the potential for considerably thicker mineralization than previously modeled, with significant pods of mineralization within the broader horizon being a key focus for increasing identified volume.

Hole VKS26-054 yielded 3.3 metres grading 1.68% CuEq from 0.7 metres, alongside an intercept of 15.2 metres grading 0.98% CuEq from 11.7 metres. This hole, drilled to 30.9 metres, is a twin of VKS23-013, which was mineralized along its entire 5.35-metre length and terminated in mineralization. Viridian is awaiting final assay results for VKS26-054, including overlimit nickel analyses, before reporting complete findings.

The 2026 drill program is actively defining the geometry and continuity of the shallow mineralized system at Kraken Main. Two drill rigs are currently operating, with drilling expected to continue through the end of October. The program’s focus includes testing the full thickness of the mineralized horizon, particularly where historical drilling ended in mineralization or did not fully assess its depth, and executing progressively larger step-out holes across the broader mineralized system. To date, 12 holes have been completed for approximately 350 metres, with eight submitted for analysis.

Significant step-out drilling is underway. Holes VKS26-059, VKS26-060, and VKS26-062 have been drilled approximately 600 metres, 900 metres, and 1.2 kilometres from previous drilling, respectively. These holes intersected visually identified semi-massive sulphide mineralization at the top of bedrock and are currently being processed for sampling and laboratory analysis to determine metal content and distribution.

Hole VKS26-053 was abandoned at 11.1 metres. Based on encountered mineralization, Viridian plans to step back from the collar and redrill the target to assess the full thickness of the mineralized horizon. Drilling issues also led to the suspension of VKS26-052, with the remaining portion scheduled for completion later in the season. Results from this section will be reported when available.
