Toronto, Ontario — February 17, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Unigold Inc. has appointed Juana Barcelo and Andrés Marranzini to its Board of Directors.
Barcelo brings over 15 years of experience in mining and corporate affairs across Latin America and the Caribbean. She previously served as President/Country Manager of Barrick Pueblo Viejo, a joint venture between Newmont and Barrick, and as Executive Director of Government Affairs, Central America and the Caribbean for Barrick Gold Corporation. She has also been listed twice among the Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining.
Marranzini is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Punta Bergantín Development, overseeing a tourism and real estate project in the Caribbean. Earlier in his career, he served as Legal Counsel and Chief of Staff for the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources, as well as Deputy Minister of Youth, Deputy Minister of Labour, and Administrative Deputy Minister to the President. He has also practiced private law and served as the Executive Director of the National Hotel & Restaurant Association in the Dominican Republic.
Joe Hamilton, Chairman of the Board, welcomed Barcelo and Marranzini, citing their skills and experience with environmental and social aspects of development and permitting in the Dominican Republic as valuable assets as Unigold aims to bring the Candelones deposits into production.
In conjunction with these appointments, Jose Francisco Arata, Charles Page, and Normand Tremblay have resigned from the Board of Directors. Management and the Board expressed appreciation for their service in guiding the company, particularly during challenging periods, and helping to position it for future success in developing the Candelones Deposits in the Dominican Republic.
Unigold is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on gold discovery in the Caribbean. Its primary asset is the multi-million ounce Candelones gold deposits within the 100% owned “Neita Sur” concession in the Dominican Republic. A feasibility study for the oxide portion of the Candelones deposit was delivered in Q4 2022. In early 2024, Unigold entered into an earn-in agreement with Barrick Gold, granting Barrick the opportunity to earn up to an 80% interest in the Neita Norte concession.
