Toronto, Ontario — January 19, 2026 — Leads & Copy — The FUTR Corporation (TSXV: FTRC) has appointed G. Scott Paterson as Chairman of the Board, effective immediately. Paterson, who previously conceptualized FutureVault and incubated FUTR, brings extensive public company experience and capital markets expertise to the role.
Michael Hilmer, Vice Chairman of FUTR, highlighted Paterson’s strong reputation in strategy, business development, financial management, and governance. Paterson’s ownership position, exceeding 10% of The FUTR Corporation, demonstrates his long-term alignment with the company.
Paterson previously served as Vice Chairman of the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and Chairman of the TSX Venture Exchange. He currently serves as Executive Chairman of FutureVault Inc. and Chairman of QYOU Media Inc. (TSXV: QYOU). He also served on the Board of Lionsgate Entertainment (NYSE: LION) for 21 years and continues to serve on the Board of Entertainment One Canada Ltd.
Paterson emphasized the potential of consumer data monetization, noting that companies like Google and Meta have achieved trillion-dollar valuations without sharing the economics of that value creation with users. He stated that the FUTR Agent App aims to enable consumers to participate directly in the monetization of their personal information.
The FUTR Agent App allows users to securely upload documents, earn FUTR Tokens, and use intelligent document processing for insights and actions, including bill payments. Hilmer will transition from Chairman to Vice Chairman, focusing on enterprise and brand partnerships and M&A as the company prepares for commercial scaling in 2026.
Hilmer brings over 30 years of experience in building and scaling companies. Paterson anticipates a significant year for the company, with the FUTR Agent App moving from closed beta to public launch and the continued maturation of the FUTR Token.
