Surge Battery Metals (TSXV:NILI) JV Appoints Steffen Ball as VP, Commercial Development

West Vancouver, British Columbia — January 7, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Surge Battery Metals Inc. has announced that Nevada North Lithium LLC (NNL), its joint venture with Evolution Mining Limited, has appointed Mr. Steffen Ball as NNL’s Vice President, Commercial Development.

Ball’s background includes senior roles at Nissan North America and Ford Motor Company, where he led battery raw material sourcing strategies. He also brings experience in mine-site operations, process engineering, and startup leadership, along with a Geology degree from the Colorado School of Mines.

In his new role, Ball will be responsible for leading the commercial strategy and leveraging industry relationships to develop NNL’s assets and drive them toward production.

Surge Battery Metals Inc. CEO and Director Greg Reimer stated that Ball’s appointment is a significant step in advancing the Nevada North Lithium Project. He believes that Ball’s OEM battery sourcing leadership and technical credentials position him to forge strategic partnerships and accelerate commercial development.

The company is also granting 500,000 stock options, exercisable for five years at 87 cents a share, to directors, officers, and consultants.

Surge Battery Metals Inc. is focused on securing the supply of domestic lithium through its involvement in the Nevada North Lithium Project, which aims to develop high-grade lithium energy metals in Nevada, USA. Nevada North Lithium LLC owns the Nevada North Lithium Project southeast of Jackpot, Nevada. The first three rounds of drilling identified a strongly mineralized zone of lithium bearing clays occupying a strike length of more than 4,300 meters and a known width of greater than 1500 meters. The Nevada North Lithium Project has a pit-constrained Inferred Resource containing an estimated 11.24 Mt of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE) grading 3010 ppm Li at a 1,250-ppm cutoff. The recently completed PEA reported an after-tax NPV8% US $9.17 Billion and after-tax IRR of 22.8% at $24,000/t LCE and an OPEX of US $5,243/t LCE. A 2025 infill drill program has been completed, and assay results are pending.
