Sorrento Resources Ltd. (CSE: SRS) (OTCQB: SRSLF) has updated exploration activities at its Rodgers Cove Gold Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, highlighting three high-grade soil gold anomalies.
The Canadian exploration company reported the largest anomaly measures 525m x 450m, while a second measures 400m x 475m, and a third is 125m x 150m. Soil values reached up to 1.302 g/t Au, with 13 samples above 0.5 g/t Au and 288 samples anomalous at ≥50 ppb Au. The company collected a total of 2,405 soil samples across four grids.
Diamond drilling, expected to begin later this week, will cover a minimum of 1,500m. A historic trench on the edge of the 400m x 475m anomaly previously returned 115.6 g/t Au over 1.0 meter.
The 2025 soil sampling program identified three significant gold-in-soil anomalies. The North Grid (NG) anomaly spans approximately 525m by 450m. The South Grid 1 (SG1) anomaly, measuring about 400m by 475m, is near a historic trench that yielded 115.6 g/t Au over 1 meter. The company said this high-grade intercept was never followed up with drilling.
The South Grid 2 (SG2) anomaly measures 125m by 150m. Overall, 13 samples showed values exceeding 0.5 g/t Au, peaking at 1.302 g/t Au. Moreover, 288 samples had anomalous values of 50 ppb Au or higher.
The Rodgers Cove Project is in Gander Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, near Rodgers Cove and less than 50km north of Gander. The property, accessible via forest access roads, is on tidewater and near a transmission line.
The project includes twelve mineral licenses totaling 6,500 hectares (260 claims) in the Central Newfoundland Gold Belt (CNGB). The area is known for multiple gold discoveries along major deformation zones, within the Exploits Subzone, along the Appleton and JBP Faults.
Previous exploration has been limited, with no diamond drilling to date and few geophysical surveys. A past trenching program produced results of 115.6 g/t Au over 1m.
Alex Bugden, President, CEO, and Qualified Person of Sorrento Resources Ltd., stated that the identification of large-scale and high-grade soil anomalies at Rodgers Cove significantly enhances the Project’s potential.
Sorrento Resources also announced the appointment of Joseph Cullen to the Board of Directors, and the resignation of Brent Clark.
Alex Bugden has reviewed and approved the technical information.
