Vancouver, British Columbia — January 20, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Phenom Resources Corp. has applied for a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and its Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) for R&D bench and pilot scale critical metals projects.
The DOE funding opportunity, FOA-0003583, makes available up to $275 million across multiple projects.
Phenom’s submission, titled “Integrated Pilot-Scale Validation of High-Grade Vanadium and Nickel Feedstock,” requests US$19.8 million, with DOE funding 80% of the project. The program is structured as a 48-month program consisting of four sequential Performance Periods. The vanadium-nickel R&D project uses feedstock material that averages over 6% vanadium and over 1.4% nickel.
The DOE projects a tentative award date of June 15, 2026, for successful candidates.
The company’s engineering/technology team assembled the submission and has been working on the High-Grade Vanadium-Nickel R&D project to establish a metallurgical flowsheet and seek financial partnerships. Securing the grant could significantly boost the project.
Phenom Resources Corp.’s gold efforts remain a primary focus for its resources and exploration team. A news release regarding low sulphidation epithermal gold drilling efforts on Crescent Valley is forthcoming, and the Dobbin drill permitting process is advancing.
