PharmaTher (OTCQB:PHRRF) Expands PharmaPatch™ Platform into GLP-1 Obesity Therapies

Toronto, Ontario — January 14, 2026 — Leads & Copy — PharmaTher Holdings Ltd. (OTCQB: PHRRF) (CSE: PHRM) is expanding its PharmaPatch™ microneedle patch platform into GLP-1 therapies for potential obesity treatment.

The company’s decision builds on development progress with its ketamine and multiple psychedelic compounds patch programs. This includes pre-IND-enabling work and published research demonstrating controlled, sustained delivery and flexible patch design principles.

Fabio Chianelli, Founder and CEO of PharmaTher, stated that PharmaPatch™ was created to solve medicine delivery challenges in a patient-friendly form, potentially supporting sustained drug exposure. The company is now applying the platform to GLP-1 therapy for obesity after advancing its ketamine and psychedelic patch programs. The goal is to develop a needle-free, at-home microneedle patch designed for long-acting delivery, potentially up to one month from a single application.

PharmaTher’s ketamine and psychedelic patch programs are designed to enable controlled and sustained delivery, reduce administration burden, and support extended delivery, tolerability, and flexible dosing through patch size and drug loading parameters. The company believes these capabilities are relevant to GLP-1 therapies, where long-term adherence and convenience are important for real-world effectiveness.

Obesity is a major public health challenge in the U.S., with CDC reporting that over 2 in 5 adults are affected. Grand View Research estimates the U.S. obesity treatment market generated approximately $11.2 billion in 2024 and may reach approximately $48.5 billion by 2030, driven by GLP-1 therapies.

PharmaTher’s GLP-1 PharmaPatch™ initiative is designed to explore a differentiated delivery approach that offers advantages over injection-based regimens:

  • Needle-free administration using microneedle-enhanced intradermal delivery
  • At-home convenience and a simplified patient experience
  • Sustained, controlled delivery profile for consistent drug exposure
  • Flexible dosing potential through patch design variables
  • Extended-duration delivery, potentially up to one month with a single patch application (subject to formulation optimization, preclinical results, and clinical validation)

PharmaTher plans to advance the GLP-1 PharmaPatch™ initiative through feasibility work and preclinical evaluation. The Company is finalizing a patent application covering innovations arising from this program and expects to file the application later this month.

PharmaTher Holdings Ltd. (OTCQB: PHRRF) (CSE: PHRM) is focused on acquiring and advancing assets that can be efficiently monetized. The Company manages three assets: (i) KETARx™ portfolio of ketamine drugs and data; (ii) PharmaPatch™ microneedle patch platform delivering ketamine, psychedelics, and GLP-1 drugs for neuropsychiatric and obesity disorders; and (iii) a 49% equity interest in Sairiyo Therapeutics Inc., which is focused on a patented oral formulation of cepharanthine for infectious diseases and cancer.
