Edmonton, Alberta — September 8, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Peruvian Metals Corp. has announced the completion of a significant overhaul and maintenance program, alongside year-to-date production results for 2026 at its 80-per-cent-owned Aguila Norte processing plant in Northern Peru. The company, which operates as Peruvian Metals or the Company, stated that the plant processed a total of 6,046 metric tonnes (mt) during July and August. The Aguila Norte plant has now maintained full production capacity for 28 of the past 29 months.
Maintenance work on the ball mill and crushing circuit was conducted from April through July, with production reportedly unaffected. The Company anticipates another year of full capacity production. Since 2017, the Aguila Norte plant has processed a cumulative 221,020 mt.
Recent sample results from the tailings area at Aguila Norte indicate the presence of residual gold and silver. Twenty samples were collected from a dry section of the tailings, yielding an average of 2.4 grams of gold (Au) per metric tonne and 90 grams of silver (Ag) per metric tonne. Based on current prices of $4400 US per ounce for gold and $65 US per ounce for silver, this equates to 0.108 oz Au equivalent per metric tonne. Individual gold results ranged from 1.34 to 3.93 grams Au/mt, and silver results varied from 1.24 to 4.37 ounces Ag/mt. Samples, weighing three to four kilograms each, were extracted from multiple sites within a 1500 square metre area using 20 to 80-centimetre hand-dug pits. The sampling process was supervised by Jeffrey Reeder, the CEO of Peruvian Metals.
A composite sample from the sampled area was also prepared for metallurgical testing. This sample assayed at a head grade of 1.76 grams Au/mt and 75 grams Ag/mt. Metallurgical tests confirmed high recovery rates for gold at 93% and silver at 87%. The Company noted that lead and zinc content in the tailings are insignificant, suggesting that any future processing would solely focus on recovering gold and silver. Peruvian Metals will need to modify its existing permit to include an additional process for treating the tailings material. A detailed report is scheduled for submission to the Peruvian Ministry of Mines in the fourth quarter.
Jeffrey Reeder, Chief Executive Officer of Peruvian Metals, commented on the Company’s progress. “We are on track for another year at full capacity production,” Reeder stated. “The Company is currently preparing Palta Dorada and Mercedes for bulk sample extraction from the underground sites. The possibility of reprocessing the tailings at Aguila Norte adds another revenue stream, strengthening the financial position of the Company.”
Jeffrey Reeder, P. Geo., serves as the Qualified Person, as defined in National Instrument 43-101, and has approved the technical content of this release. The metallurgical work was conducted by Jose Orlando Moncada Rejas, Ing., chief metallurgist at the Aguila Norte plant. Assaying of the tailings material was performed by Procesmin Ingenieros SRL, located in Caraz Ancash, using fire assay for gold and silver.
