Onyx Gold (TSXV:ONYX) Reports High-Grade Surface Assays at Munro-Croesus Project

Vancouver, British Columbia — January 6, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Onyx Gold Corp. (TSXV: ONYX) (OTCQX: ONXGF) has announced new surface assay results from its 100%-owned Munro-Croesus Project, situated 75 km east of Timmins, Ontario.

The results stem from surface channel samples collected at the C Zone, a regional target six kilometers east of the Argus North discovery and three km northeast of the historic Croesus Gold Mine. Onyx’s exploration team identified the C Zone as a prospect with potential similarities to the high-grade Croesus Vein.

Trenching at the C Zone, which began in Fall 2025, yielded encouraging gold grades, with values reaching up to 124 grams per tonne gold over 0.62 meters.

The company says these results emphasize the potential for additional high-grade discoveries within the broader Munro-Croesus Project area. The company believes the results highlight the value of modern structural interpretation and systematic targeting in historically underexplored areas of the property.

Highlights from Surface Channel Sampling at the C Zone:

  • 39.5 g/t Au over 2.33 m, including
  • 124 g/t Au over 0.62 m, and including
  • 9.4 g/t Au over 0.96 m, and including
  • 8.3 g/t Au over 0.75 m

According to Onyx, the high-grade assay results originate from a freshly exposed vein zone, representing a significant new target for follow-up. The C Zone remains open along strike and at depth, presenting strong potential for expansion through initial drill testing.

Ongoing structural interpretation will guide first-pass drilling in the coming months as part of the Company’s fully-funded 75,000 m drill program.

According to Brock Colterjohn, President & CEO of Onyx Gold, the C Zone represents another example of the untapped opportunity within the Munro-Croesus Project. Colterjohn added that the area was previously identified and partially evaluated decades ago, but the work was limited and sporadic. He said the land package has been consolidated and re-evaluated using modern geological techniques, leading to the uncovering of high-grade and bulk-tonnage gold systems.

Onyx reports it has approximately $30 million in the treasury and a fully funded 75,000-meter drill program underway. The company says that positions them to continue advancing the Argus discoveries while systematically testing a pipeline of high-impact regional targets.

The C Zone is located three km northeast of the historic Croesus Gold Mine and one km north of the regional Munro Fault Zone. The Munro Fault strikes at approximately 290° through the center of the Project. The C Zone itself is characterized by quartz vein and stockwork mineralization within a 5 to 15-m-wide zone of bleaching hosted within a brittle deformation zone within pillowed mafic volcanics.

Limited exploration work was carried out on the prospect in the 1950s-60s and again in the early 1990s by previous operators, including a small eight hole/1,177m drill program. In 1994, a blasted trench at the C Zone returned coarse-grained gold in quartz veins. This high-grade vein zone has characteristics similar to the nearby historic Croesus Gold Mine.

In Fall 2025, the Company carried out mechanized stripping, power washing, detailed geological mapping, and sampling at the C Zone over a 45 m by 10 m area which exposed a broad zone of elevated gold values associated within quartz-carbonate veins and stockworks. A total of 62 channel samples were collected averaging 0.8 m in length. Ten (10) samples were >0.5 g/t Au, including four (4) above 1 g/t Au. The host rock is oxidized massive basalt with moderate-strong pervasive silica-sericite-ankerite alteration and abundant fracture-filling sulfides. Highest gold grades occur at the intersection of 1) a west-striking, moderately north-dipping fault-filling quartz vein; and 2) north-striking, shallowly east-dipping extensional veins.

The Company will be resuming its 75,000-m Phase I/II/III drill program at Munro-Croesus in early January to continue following up on encouraging gold intersections from its Argus North and West discoveries, as well as, testing several high value regional targets, including the C Zone. Drilling to date at the Argus North, Main and West discoveries has now defined broad zones of gold mineralization over a total strike length of 900 m and from surface to ~400 m vertically.

The Company has completed 100 drill holes to date, totalling >36,000 m as part of its 75,000 m Phase I/II/III drill program. Assays have been announced for 53 holes. With ~$30 million in the treasury, the Company remains fully funded to advance its 2026 exploration programs.

The Munro-Croesus Project is located along Highway 101 in the heart of the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Project covers 109 km2 of prospective geology within the influence of major gold-bearing structural breaks.

Onyx Gold Corp. is a Canadian exploration company focused on unlocking district-scale gold opportunities in Timmins, Ontario, and Yukon Territory.
