Li-FT Power (TSXV: LIFT) Expands Quebec Lithium Footprint with Winsome Acquisition

CanadianMarkets.news – December 17

VANCOUVER — Li-FT Power Corp. has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Winsome Resources’ Canadian assets, including a majority stake in Azimut Exploration’s lithium project in Quebec. The deal positions Li-FT Power (TSXV: LIFT) as one of the most aggressive lithium developers in Canada, expanding its footprint in a sector critical to electric vehicle supply chains.

The transaction, valued at approximately $200 million, underscores the growing appetite for Canadian lithium projects as global automakers and battery manufacturers seek secure supply outside China. Li-FT Power’s management said the acquisition will accelerate exploration and development timelines, with drilling campaigns set to expand in early 2026.

Lithium demand is forecast to triple by 2030, and Quebec’s geology has become a focal point for investors. Analysts note that Li-FT’s consolidation strategy could make it a takeover target for larger producers. Shares of LIFT surged 12 per cent on the TSX Venture Exchange following the announcement, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s growth trajectory.

Industry observers highlight that Canada’s mining sector is increasingly defined by critical minerals, with lithium, nickel, and cobalt projects drawing both domestic and international capital. Li-FT’s move signals a broader trend of Canadian juniors positioning themselves as indispensable players in the global energy transition.
