VANCOUVER, British Columbia — September 8, 2026 — Leads & Copy — King Copper Discovery Corp. has completed site visits and technical reviews with drilling contractors for its fully-funded diamond drilling program at the Colquemayo Copper Project in southern Peru. This milestone positions the Company to commence the drill program, which has been approved under the Declaración de Impacto Ambiental permit, allowing for 36,000 metres of drilling from 40 platforms across 59 holes.
The Company has advanced through the competitive evaluation process for drilling contractors, following detailed technical and logistical planning. Priority porphyry targets have been defined across the approximately 12-kilometre by 4-kilometre Colquemayo system, including the Amata-Cairani, Coripuquio, and Yanarico targets. This definition is based on an extensive relogging and reinterpretation of approximately 20,000 metres of historical drilling and other geological data.
Drilling contractors were selected based on their technical capabilities, experience drilling to similar depths, and established track records. The selection process involved site visits, technical evaluations, and detailed planning for site conditions, drilling requirements, equipment, and logistics. In line with King Copper’s sustainable development policies, bidders are also being evaluated on proposals for local employment and procurement from local suppliers, to be addressed through a Social Management Plan. Community engagement plans are also a requirement for each bidder.
King Copper is finalizing pre-mobilization requirements to begin drilling. Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Richards stated that the 36,000-metre program represents the first opportunity to systematically test the broader potential of a large mineralized system that has already shown significant high-grade copper mineralization through historical drilling. He added that the technical team has defined initial priority porphyry targets warranting comprehensive testing.
The initial drill holes are designed to step out from strong copper, gold, and silver intersections, including those in hole 36 at the Amata-Cairani target. The program will also test down-dip targets where spectral data and porphyry-style veining indicate the proximity of a potential porphyry intrusion, such as at Coripuquio. In addition to Amata-Cairani and Coripuquio, four other targets have been defined as priorities for initial drilling.
The exploration program builds on an extensive technical review and reinterpretation of the Colquemayo system, following up on multiple zones of high-grade copper mineralization from historical drilling, while testing the broader porphyry potential at depth. Historical results include significant intersections such as 237.3 metres of 2.4% Cu from 306.2 metres in COQ-10-36, which included 15.5 metres at 27% Cu; 100.25 metres at 1.11% Cu from 208 metres in AM-02; and 55.5 metres at 1.25% Cu from 264.55 metres in COQ-11-44.
The planned 36,000-metre program aims to follow up on this established mineralization and systematically test deeper porphyry targets identified through King Copper’s geological reinterpretation. The scientific and technical information in this release has been reviewed and approved by Douglas Kirwin, M.Sc., FGS, FAusIMM (CP), FSEG, a technical advisor to the Company and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
