Edmonton, Alberta — September 8, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Grizzly Discoveries Inc. has announced preliminary results from its Phase 2 sampling program in June 2026, which followed up on trenching at the Midway Precious Metals and Critical Minerals Target and induced polarization (IP) chargeability results at the Sappho Critical Minerals Target. The program yielded significant gold and silver findings, extending the Main Midway Mine trend.
Chip samples from a trench within the Main Midway Mine trend returned up to 22.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) and 1,120 g/t silver (Ag). Additional samples from trenches east and southwest of the Main Midway Mine showed up to 1.7 g/t Au and 2.7 g/t Au, respectively. Drilling is scheduled to test these anomalous samples and the historical Midway Mine this fall.
The Midway area is characterized by Paleozoic – Triassic rocks exposed through the Toroda Graben and Tertiary volcanics filling the graben. Follow-up sampling near the Sappho Chargeability Anomaly, identified earlier in 2026, produced 4.73 g/t Au from quartz float at the headwaters of Norwegian Creek, coincident with the northeast edge of the anomaly. Host rocks include late Paleozoic to Early Triassic metasedimentary rocks, with intrusions of Jurassic to Cretaceous to Eocene ages.
The geological setting features the East Fault Contact of the Toroda Graben, with numerous pyroxenite-monzonite-diorite and quartz-feldspar porphyry-diorite intrusions into sedimentary and volcanic packages. These faults are believed to have controlled the gold-silver mineralization at the Buckhorn Skarn and Mine, and the copper-gold-silver mineralization for the Motherlode/Greyhound skarns in the Greenwood area.
Permitting for drill locations to test the Sappho Chargeability Anomaly is in progress, with an initial drill test planned for this fall. The company is also seeking permits for additional drillhole pads to conduct drilling at the Motherlode Critical Minerals Target area, as well as potentially the Sappho and Midway areas, during a fall drilling program. Further IP work, geological mapping, and surface sampling are planned for several targets before drilling commences.
Exploration work, which was paused in July and August due to high fire season, has resumed and will continue through the fall. This includes prospecting and rock sampling at targets in the Motherlode, Rock Creek, Midway, Copper Mountain, Overlander-Attwood, and Sappho areas. Ground geophysical surveys, including IP, magnetics, and Loupe electromagnetics (EM), are planned for the Sappho, Midway, and Motherlode areas. Additional drilling is scheduled from October to December, with results to be released as they become available.
Previous sampling at the Midway Mine area in 2022 from outcrop yielded gold grades ranging from 12.05 g/t to 70.8 g/t. Three of seven selective rock grab samples from the Midway Mine returned silver grades from 1,360 g/t to 2,140 g/t. New showings identified in 2023 near the historical mine included up to 5.64 g/t Au and 4.19 g/t Au from grab samples. Since 2022, at least six new areas with anomalous gold, copper, and silver in soils have been identified at Midway. The area is targeted for copper-gold skarn and epithermal gold-silver mineralization, with samples characterized by pyrite, arsenopyrite, galena, and sphalerite in a siliceous host, indicating potential for additional high-grade mineralization.
Analytical work for the Greenwood Critical Minerals Project was performed by ALS Global. Samples were prepared and analyzed using industry-standard methods, with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) measures including certified standards, blanks, and duplicates.
