Grande Portage (TSXV:GPG) Receives Permit for New Amalga Gold Project

VANCOUVER, BC — January 7, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Grande Portage Resources Ltd. has received a fully executed Special Use Permit from the US Forest Service (USFS) for its New Amalga Gold property in Southeast Alaska.

The permit authorizes the installation of long-term infrastructure related to environmental monitoring. This infrastructure includes an environmental data collection station, meteorological monitoring equipment, stream gauging sensors, and satellite uplink communications and power infrastructure.

According to Grande Portage, the current development concept for the project is a small-footprint underground mining operation with third-party offsite processing, which eliminates the need for an onsite mill or tailings storage facility.

Ian Klassen, President and CEO of Grande Portage, said the permit is a key step toward gathering the data needed to design and permit a low-footprint mining operation that protects the environment. He also thanked regulatory officials at the US Forest Service for advancing the permit during the recent US Federal Government shutdown.

The environmental data collection station will be located at the expected site of the mine’s surface facilities. It will gather meteorological data required for future permits, including an Alaska Department of Conservation Air Quality Control permit and an Alaska Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (APDES) permit.

The meteorological monitoring equipment will be located above the potential future location of underground workings.

The stream gauging sensors will be used to understand seasonal fluctuations in river levels and support the design of a mine water treatment and handling system that protects fish habitat.

Grande Portage says the New Amalga Gold Project remains open to expansion and hosts an Indicated Resource of 1,438,500 ounces of gold at an average grade of 9.47 g/t Au (4,726,000 tonnes) and an Inferred Resource of 515,700 ounces of gold at an average grade of 8.85 g/t Au (1,813,000 tonnes).

The company says the current development concept provides several benefits, including minimizing the mine footprint and power requirements, eliminating the need for a tailings disposal facility or permanent waste rock storage facilities, avoiding the use of chemical reagents for gold processing at the site, reducing land usage and environmental footprint, facilitating post-mining closure and reclamation, and simplifying the environmental review and permitting process.

Other project highlights include a 100% interest in the New Amalga Gold Project, its location near infrastructure 25km north of Juneau, Alaska, the presence of at least 8 large, long, gold-bearing mesothermal veins, and 240 drill holes confirming a large gold-quartz system.

The company’s updated NI43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) with an effective date of July 17, 2024 reported an Indicated Resource of 1,438,500 ounces of gold at an average grade of 9.47 g/t Au (4,726,000 tonnes); and an Inferred Resource of 515,700 ounces of gold at an average grade of 8.85 g/t Au (1,813,000 tonnes), as well as an Indicated Resource of 891,600 ounces of silver at an average grade of 5.86 g/t Ag (4,726,000 tonnes); and an Inferred Resource of 390,600 ounces of silver at an average grade of 7.33 g/t silver (1,813,000 tonnes).
