December 9, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Penbar Capital Ltd., soon to be Eastport Critical Minerals Corp. (TSXV:EVI), has initiated Phase 1 drilling at its Foley Uranium project in Botswana, marking a significant step in the company’s exploration and development efforts across its assets.
The drilling campaign will cover 5,000 meters and aims to explore a continuous 15km+ radiometric anomaly that extends into the Foley Uranium project, bordering Lotus Resources’ 114 Mlb Letlhakane Deposit, one of the world’s largest undeveloped uranium resources.
Eastport’s exploration targets a Langer Heinrich-Style paleo-channel uranium deposit, characterized by shallow, redox-controlled mineralization within heap-leach amenable sandstones, with drilling depths ranging from 40 to 80 meters.
This drilling program marks the third critical metals drill program commenced by Eastport within a month of its admission to the TSX-V, targeting copper, rare earth elements, and uranium, running concurrently, the company said.
Rick Bonner, Director & VP Exploration, highlighted the strategic location of the Foley Uranium project, adjacent to the world-class Letlhakane Uranium Deposit, suggesting potential for similar mineralization within the same geological area.
Bonner also explained that paleo-channels, ancient riverbeds, serve as natural pathways for uranium-enriched groundwater, leading to the concentration of mineralization in shallow sandstones when the groundwater encounters reducing conditions.
The initial drill fence, located immediately north of the Lotus Licence, will provide essential geological insights into the direction, depth, and grade of the paleo-channel system, Bonner added.
CEO Burns Singh Tennent-Bhohi noted that Lotus Resources’ investments in drilling, resource upgrades, and scoping studies have confirmed Letlhakane’s status as a globally significant uranium system, exceeding 113 million pounds.
Tennent-Bhohi voiced confidence that Eastport’s exploration program will demonstrate comparable potential for the Foley Uranium project, hosting the northern extension of the Letlhakane deposit and creating value for shareholders.
The Foley Uranium Project (PL113/2020), situated approximately 75 km south of Francistown, benefits from sealed highway access, proximity to the national power grid, abundant groundwater for processing, and skilled labor from nearby mining hubs.
Liz de Klerk Pri.Sci.Nat.,FIMM, an Independent Consultant of the Company and a Qualified Person as that term is defined in National Instrument 43-101, reviewed and approved the information in this release.
Eastport is actively advancing five projects in Botswana, with cumulative expenditures of nearly $20 million, including the Matsitama Copper Project, Selebi East nickel-copper-cobalt project, the Semarule Rare Earth Elements Project, and the Keng Project targeting nickel, copper and PGE’s.
Botswana is regarded as a strong mining jurisdiction in Africa, known for its stable regulatory environment and support for responsible mineral development, Eastport said.
