Copper Quest (CSE:CQX) Acquires Kitimat Copper-Gold Project

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — January 5, 2026 — Leads & Copy —

Copper Quest Exploration Inc. has acquired a 100% interest in the Kitimat Copper-Gold Project, located near Kitimat, British Columbia. The company exercised its option under an agreement with Bernie Kreft dated October 29, 2025.

The Kitimat Copper-Gold Project, spanning 2,954 hectares in the Skeena Mining Division, is accessible year-round via logging and mineral exploration roads. It is located near tidewater, rail lines, and high-voltage hydroelectric transmission lines.

The project lies within the Stikine Terrane, known for porphyry copper-gold systems. The principal target, the Jeannette Cu-Au Zone, shows alteration and mineralization indicative of a larger copper-gold porphyry system.

Historical exploration, including drilling by Decade Resources Ltd. in 2010, revealed significant copper-gold mineralization. Highlights from drilling in the Jeannette Cu-Au Zone include:

Hole J-7: 117.07 m grading 1.03 g/t Au, 0.54% Cu, from 1.52 m to 118.60 m.

Hole J-1: 103.65 m grading 1.00 g/t Au, 0.55% Cu, from 9.15 m to 112.80 m.

Hole J-2: 107.01 m grading 0.80 g/t Au, 0.45% Cu, from 6.10 m to 113.11 m.

Hole J-8: 112.20 m grading 0.41 g/t Au, 0.33% Cu, from 11.89 m to 124.09 m.

The mineralization is continuous near-surface copper-gold extending over significant widths, and open at depth within the Jeannette Zone.

Copper Quest issued 2,000,000 common shares to Bernie Kreft at $0.165 per share for the acquisition. The project is subject to a 2.5% net smelter return (NSR) royalty, 40% of which can be repurchased by the company for CAD $1,000,000. The company issued 256,800 finder’s shares at $0.125 per share in connection with the acquisition.

Brian Thurston, CEO of Copper Quest, said the Kitimat Copper-Gold Project is the fifth acquisition by the company in just over 12 months. He noted the project’s location, infrastructure, and historical drill results, and its potential as part of the company’s copper-gold portfolio.

The company plans to use AI analysis to integrate exploration data and create a geological and geophysical model for the project. Additional field work, including mapping, sampling, and geophysical surveys, may be conducted to refine drill targets.

Brian G. Thurston, P.Geo., the Company’s President and CEO and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, has reviewed and approved the technical information in this news release.

Copper Quest is focused on building shareholder value through acquisitions and exploration. The company’s land package currently comprises 7 projects that span over 45,000-plus hectares.
