Coloured Ties Capital Inc. (TSXV: TIE) (OTC Pink: APEOF) (FSE: 97A0), a significant shareholder of Labrador Gold Corp. (TSX.V: LAB) (OTCQB: NKOSF) (FSE: 2N6), along with Kal Malhi and Rauni Malhi, are pledging to pay shareholders a $0.02 dividend if successful in their efforts to change the company’s direction.
The dividend would be declared within seven days of the shareholder meeting. The Concerned Shareholders say this move is in response to what they view as ongoing value destruction, including recently announced greenfield investments. They contend that returning capital to shareholders is a better alternative to investing in other companies’ projects and the dividend would still leave sufficient capital for brownfield opportunities.
Coloured Ties claims that Labrador Gold’s treasury has decreased from over $19 million as of December 31, 2024, to an expected $12-14 million following the upcoming shareholders’ meeting, without delivering shareholder value.
Coloured Ties intends to cut costs linked to pursuing remote projects and minority investments, reallocating those funds to the proposed shareholder dividend.
Prior to Coloured Ties’ investment in Labrador Gold, its common shares traded between $.06 and $.08 (June to July 2025). The Concerned Shareholders argue a $.02 dividend would offer shareholders a return equal to 25-33% based on pre-Coloured Ties share values, while preserving their shareholdings in a newly structured mineral exploration company.
They claim that continuing the current management’s approach will likely lead to a depleted treasury, a portfolio of grass roots projects, and a return to the pre-Coloured Ties common share valuation.
Coloured Ties thanks shareholders for their support. They encourage shareholders who have not yet voted to do so via the GOLD proxy or GOLD VIF to reverse years of mismanagement and get some of their capital back. They say the overwhelming support received to date shows shareholders hold the board and management accountable for years of value destruction and strategic missteps and that shareholders are unwilling to compound this record with a risky shift in business.
The shareholder meeting will determine whether Labrador continues down a path of value destruction or finally embraces accountability and shareholder-focused leadership.
